The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies
Genre: Adventure, Fantasy
I've
heard some moderate opinions before I saw the movie and read a few
reviews after I saw it. Whilst some are not pleased at all (with being
hugely disappointed as an understatement), others are very very very
enthusiastic and some just hover somewhere in between.
I
do agree with some of the negative comments and thoughts, but about some
reservations I have my opinion as well. Let me give a few examples... (read more)
Crazy, Stupid, Love
Genre: Comedy, Romantic
Get your girls together and enjoy Ryan Gosling's sixpack. Even if you are a dude, this film is acceptable since the main theme is comedy. The feel good romantic aspect is actually more a side story.
Funny yet romantic, but absolutely NOT the cliché version of the romcom. Steve Carell is hi-la-ri-ous, as usual. Ryan Gosling isn't disappointing either when it comes to ... (read more)
The Perks of being a Wallflower
Genre: Drama
If
you are like me and you want to see every movie Emma Watson has ever
starred in, then that is one reason to watch it. If you have read the
coming-of-age novel and are curious about the movie, that is an other
reason to watch it. Don't worry, it won't disappoint. It is a beautiful
movie to watch with a friend who has the same taste in movie as you
have.
But I have to warn you, the undertone and storyline is quite serious. It is not depressing or anything. It's just... (read more)
The Maze Runner
Genre: Sci-Fi, Action
This is the movie adaptation of The Maze Runner. It
is the first book of a series of 3 written by James Dashner. The
comparison with the Hunger Games has been made before, but they are two
completely different stories in my opinion. The only things the two have
in common are the futuristic aspect, the bad ass female characters
and Other than that, two completely different stories...
It's a sci-fi action movie with a killing, psycho and... (read more)
10 Years
Genre: Comedy, Drama
If
you are a newly graduate, this movie is something to watch and start
wonder. What would it be like to see all your classmates in 10years
time? Who will stay the same, who will become famous, who will be
married and have kids? Funny things to think about.
If
you are feeling a bit melangolic about graduating high school or uni.
That is when I saw the movie at least. Or if you just like to see
Channing and Jenna in... (read more)
Man of Steel
Genre: Superhero
As
I just said: it is family proof. Perfect acceptable to watch with
basically anyone or just by yourself. But it is always more fun to watch
a superhero movie with a superhero fan :)
I
watched this movie after seeing basically every Marvel film there is.
So I was already in the I-want-to-see-a-superhero-movie-mood. But every
other mood of "I want to look at someone drop dead gorgeous for 2 hours"
or "I want to see some action"... (read more)
50/50
Genre: Comedy, Drama
You
can watch the movie perfectly on your own or with friends. Maybe not
watch it with your parents, because there is a scene in a nightclub and I
think that might be slightly awkward. But that is up to you :)
You
are just in the mood to see a proper movie with a grown up subject
(cancer), but secretly you just want to watch a comedy because you are
not that grown up. This is it. A comedy about cancer. And no, they are
not making fun of... (read more)
