KING BOB! - Bob, Minions

Hallooooo!!

Movietime Monday again! Saturday morning I went to Minions. A highly anticipated film that was, for me anyway. Maybe a bit too high...

As the start of this blog post might already have given away: this movie has not blown me away as I hoped it would. I absolutely love Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2. They're hilarious, witty, well thought through, they're for all ages. I'd say that Minions is a kids movie through and through. I'm not gonna lie, half way through the movie I got bored and I even contemplated for a second to just leave. My mind was drifting off to things I could do in the afternoon, what I had to pack for my trip to Croatia, etc. So yeah, this movie was kind of a let down.

The story starts off pretty well. The origins of the minions and their need to serve a despicable master. But they always end up killing their masters, so eventually they take refuge inside a cave where they lived for several hunderd years. Of course, they get bored, as anyone does who doesn't have a purpose. One day, a brave minion by the name Kevin, decides to embark on an adventure in the search of a new master, with the help of Bob and Stuart.

Animation is beautiful, the music is funny, the communication without dialogue is well done, the emotions are obvious,... Everything is on point, except the story line. Up until the Villain Con part, the movie is doing great, but it's everything that comes after that where lost my interest. It does make me sad to say that I would not recommend this movie. You shouldn't pay £10 or €10 to see this movie on the big screen if you are adamant to see it. Just wait a few months til it comes out on DVD or Netflix and watch it then.

Please do not understand me wrong, I still love these little minions. I still think they're brilliant and funny and cute. I just don't think they're lead roll material.

If you are still adamant that you want to see this movie, here are the trailers and a clip! :)

To end this blog post in a  proper Minion fashion: BANANA!!
